The last three decades have shown that the roles of women in society have changed. The gender bias has diminished to a certain extent. Women have given a lot of opportunities and they have emerged out in flying colors.
In all segment of the society women have achieved a great height. Women have become CEO of some top companies, dominated in the field of sports, and also in government sector too. Works of women in this of literature, art and media has been highly recognized.
Though with all these achievements, there is no clear public understanding of certain social issues with women. It is very sad that some of the developed countries too have defined women as unequal. Society has labeled by mentioning men as strong and women as weak.
Women are not allowed into certain types of jobs like policemen or fire fighting jobs. The society has defined women as sensitive person, in order to get these jobs you have to be aggressive and tough.
Both in the work place and at home a woman is harassed by man. There is lot of pathetic news that comes up in the newspaper daily. One of such sensitive social issues with women is teen pregnancies. Women face grievance consequences from teenage pregnancy. Where pregnancy is treated as a greatest joy, incase of teenage pregnancy it is treated as a curse.
It is very sad to know that at least one million teenagers in America alone become pregnant every year. Four in every ten girls are expected to get pregnant in their life once before reaching the age of twenty. The rate of teen pregnancy is much higher in countries like Great Britain, Japan and Netherlands.
The social issues with women incase of teenage pregnancy is that, in most of the cases the child grows up without the name of the father. With teen pregnancy both the teen mother and child suffers a lot. The mother does not get any kind of help from the family. Most of the teenage mothers are drop outs from the school. So it becomes very difficult to settle in the life.
The children from these pregnancies suffer from high rate of abuse all through their life. Due to negligence in all aspects of life these children live in poverty and commit serious crimes that make their life story more miserable.
The horrifying social issues with women related to teen pregnancy are that the rate of marriage is declining in the society. This is because previously marriage was the license for having sex but now marriage is not all necessary for having sex. In this advanced world premarital sex is never a wrong deed at all.
The good news is that with all these negative consequences the rate of teen birth is decreasing because of the awareness to use of contraceptives while having sex. With this the consequences of unsafe sex is also decreasing. The young community is also trying its level best to wait till its adulthood, before being sexually active.
With this awareness among the teenagers the social issue with women too decreases. Teenage girls understand that this is time for growing up to become economically independent, and to be civilized in the society thus lessening up the consequence of social issues with women.
