We all know the scenario. You and your boyfriend have the best of times when it is just the two of you. Nothing seems to be able to touch you as you are on cloud 9. he says and does all the right stuff, that is until his friends show up at pizza place.
Then your sweet romantic guy turns into the biggest jerk there ever was. Does he really want to be with them more than you? Of course not! It may help to understand why he does the things he does when his friends are around.
Guys believe that if they are too sweet to their girlfriend, especially in front of his friends that they will loose respect. They seem to think that their girl will get too comfortable and not give him the respect that she once did. That is one reason they change their tune when the boys show up.
Guys really do not know what it means to play hard to get. They think that weird head games are what a girl really wants. They feel if they show they don't care too much then the girl will want them
more.
They will work harder to get the guy to come out of his shell. In reality they come across as being dogs. Girls are becoming wise to these games and they are moving on for bigger and better things.
Guys like to think that you think they are tuff. When their friends are around they don't want to loose face and have you think that they are a wuss. So they toughen up the act towards their girl.
They act cocky to her in order to have the guys think he has it under control and they think that she will look up to him. The reality of it, it makes him look abusive and no one looks up to that. Eventually they grow up and realize what a relationship is all about.
Guys may make a bigger play for a girl if his friends are around as he doesn't want her to find one of his friends more attractive then him. He wants to be the man in front so to speak. If he looks like the best around his friends in front of his girl he then believes he has beat the competition.
Guys know that their friends wouldn't hesitate to make a play for the girl so they want to stay on top of the pile. After all, the one who rises to the top of the pile is the king, right? Wrong.
Guys need to realize that if you really like him them you will be by his side as long as he doesn't turn into a jerk.
Even though guys have good intentions behind their actions, they can come across as the biggest jerk. Keep the lines of communication open with your guy so he know where you stand and that he doesn't have anything to worry about.
Don't let him treat you any different in front of his friends then he does any other time.
