With the way the economy is today it is no wonder that most families have both parent working. For women this can be a difficult task as they are trying to juggle a family and a career. If done right you can enjoy the best of both worlds.
You need to learn to let your husband share in the work load of taking care of a family.
It can drain you if you try to do it all by yourself. Taking care of a working household requires help from everyone in the
family.
If you have children that are at least 5 years of age or older, you can assign a chore chart that they can follow.
This will take off some of the cleaning responsibilities and teach your children responsibility at the same time.
You can make a reward chart for either an allowance for extra stuff done around the house or you can make it so they can earn certain privileges such as going out for pizza.
With more and more women working today men are finding that they have to step up to the plate where child rearing and house work is concerned. There is nothing wrong with dad stepping in to cook dinner for the family.
Have the kids clean up after dinner and then plan some family time. You can make each night after dinner a time that you all sit down and enjoy something fun together. Have one night game night where everyone brings a game to the table.
You can even have the whole family help with dinner. Let the kids have their own dinner night where they are the ones who cook. Just keep an open mind if you end up eating cereal for dinner.
There are many ways to juggle both work and your family. Just be sure not to try to do it all alone. You are not the only one in the family so you need to learn to let others do things around the house as well.
Many times women get used to taking on the role as the one who takes care of the house. When that happens the woman gets used to having things done the way she likes.
This can make it hard to let loose of some of the duties as you want things done your way. Keep in mind that even though the kids don't clean the way your used to the end result is pretty darn close so that is what you need to focus on.
You husband and children need to learn to do things for themselves. Think of it as molding them and teaching them to take care of themselves for when they go out into the world on their own.
You will give them good family values that they can pass on to their children. There is no reason that you should have to sacrifice your personal life just so that you can work.
With a little planning and some help from the family you can have the best of both worlds, both home and work.
