College can be overwhelming especially in your first year. You are the new girl on the block and not a clue as to how things work around there. Below are some simply things that you can do to ensure that you have the best freshman year that you can have.
Keep the digits in your cell of local cabs as well as late night delivery places for pizza. This can come in handy for a late night study session or a late night at a party. Either way, you will have a meal when you need and a ride home if you can't drive.
Go to at least one frat party. Some say that this is a right of passage when going to college. You will meet new people and have a great time!
Get a great paid of flat shoes as you will most likely have to walk a ways
to get to class from your dorm. You may as well do it in style.
Use the term PMILK. This will be a great tool to make sure you do not forget anything when you walk out the door. PMILK= Phone, money, ID, lip gloss and keys.
Spice things up by taking a random class. Take something fun that doesn't pertain to your major. This way you have something to look forward to in the middle of all of your hard classes. Take up photography or something else relaxing and fun.
Sit with new people at lunch. You will see that college doesn't have the cliques like high school so you can make friends easier. So be brave and sit with someone interesting and make some new friends.
Be sure to get a USB flash drive. This way you can be sure to back up your work in case your laptop crashes right before your big term paper is due. You can take your work on the run with you as well. From your dorm to the library without having to take everything with you.
Be sure to have a great pair of PJs. You don't want to be caught in your old stained jersey with rainbow bright on it if the fire alarm goes off in the night and you have to run outside.
Learn to play pool as this is one of the top games played by most of the guys. You can be cute and show off your skills at a party, letting the guys know that you can hang with the best of them.

Your first year at college doesn't have to scary. Remember you're in the big leagues now and the high school games are in the past. This is a whole new game but the playing field is much friendlier then the one in high school. Thankfully the cliques stayed back in high school.
