Getting Ready to Bring your Baby into the World

Becoming pregnant is a wonderful experience that most every woman wants to have. The journey of pregnancy is something to behold.

You body is going through different changes daily as your little one grows inside of you. Once you get further on in your pregnancy you will notice that you start going through what is called a nesting phase.

A nesting phase you start to prepare your surroundings for the arrival of the baby. It is a natural instinct that most every woman goes through. You will want to have everything in order and as clean as you can get it. Be sure not to over do it.

Your hormones are working overtime now and it may be hard to control the urge to "nest". You have a great deal of things to focus on at this time in your pregnancy.

You will most likely be going over your birthing plan with your doctor and getting things finalized for the arrival of your precious cargo. This is a time to think about Lamaze classes. This is where you focus on breathing techniques to help you deal with the labor pains.

In Lamaze class you will learn that your mind is a powerful tool in helping you deal with the pain. They believe it is mind over matter. There are other ways to prepare for birth as well. Talk with your friends who have children. They can give you their first hand experience.

Most women will tell you that it is really painful giving birth but it is all worth it when your baby is placed in your arms. All of the hours of labor just seem to melt away and become a thing of the past.

Educating yourself as much as possible will help prepare you for the big day. The important thing is to remember not to stress yourself out. Your body will tell you when you are ready and you can count on friends, family and your doctor to be there to get you through it all.

Be sure that you have the nursery or baby's room stocked and ready to greet its new tenant. You will be tired from giving birth so you will want to be sure that you have all that you need right at your fingertips.

This will allow you more time to rest and get to know your baby and let your baby get to know you.

If you have other children, you will want to help prepare them for what it will be like when the baby comes home. They need to know that you will be focusing on the new baby more so then them but that doesn't mean that you love them any less.

Explain to them that a baby has different needs then they do as a baby can't do for him or her self. Let them help as much as they can so that they feel they play an important in the taking care of the baby.
